Holistically managed bison from Southwest Colorado.

Sarah is a first-generation bison rancher located in Hesperus, CO. Her professional career began first in consumer marketing and later in advocacy for regenerative agriculture and conservation. After five years of working as the Director of Marketing & Communications for the Savory Institute, which offered the incredible experience of travelling the world working with many different types of producers and witnessing the power of Holistic Management in many different contexts, Sarah launched into ranching full-time.  


Sarah now owns and operates Gleason Bison, a holistically managed, grass-fed bison operation committed to serving its community, regenerating the environment, and producing thriving animals. Gleason Bison operates as a cow-calf enterprise, a locally and nationally sold meat label, and other bison products such as leather, hides, and skulls. Sarah is passionate about healthy soil, animals, and community and thrives when given the opportunity to offer education, creativity, and pathways to help others manifest these things in their own context.
